GIRONA & BESALÚ

Girona, founded by the Romans, is a city rich in history. As you enter the old city, you’ll encounter the Cathedral of Santa Maria, with its 90 steps, which once served as a mosque after the Moors conquered it in 715. Nearby is the Jewish Quarter, one of the best-preserved in Europe. Walking through its cobbled streets is like traveling back in time.

Known as the City of Bridges for its eleven bridges crossing the Onyar River, Girona offers picturesque views, including a bridge designed by the makers of the Eiffel Tower. Enjoy views of balconies in ocher hues that represent the noucentisme style, best exemplified by Masó’s House.

Next, we visit Besalú, famous for its medieval architecture. The tour begins with the Romanesque bridge over the Fluvià River. Walking through Besalú’s cobblestone streets, we explore the significant Jewish quarter, including a well-preserved 12th-century mikveh and the remains of the synagogue.

The Girona and Besalú Tour offers a glimpse into Catalonia’s medieval heritage. Join us to uncover the historical significance and timeless beauty of these two remarkable towns.
